It should be noted that the Seamoth can be damaged by running into a Spadefish. Spadefish can occasionally be found following very closely behind Reefback Leviathans in groups of four to five. They are usually grouped together, making them very common in their respective biomes. Spadefish swim at a moderate pace, occasionally fleeing from the player when approached. The fins and the area around the eye are salmon colored, and, along with the scales, emit a bioluminescent glow at night. A ring of reddish-pink skin encircles the eye. The Spadefish's body is predominantly teal in color, with brightly-colored scaly patches towards the rear of the creature. Three gill slits lie between the mouth and pectoral fins. The upper "lip" is split at the center and corners. The Spadefish has a broad, yet low, mouth lined with small, pointed teeth. Only two creature eggs dont make passive pets which are the Crabsquid eggs and the Ampeel eggs so if you get any of these eggs and hatch them, make sure to collect the PDA entry from them before sending them to the bioreactor. The defining characteristic of the Spadefish is its single large eye which lies atop the creature's triangular body. It just creates a passive version of the creature to keep as a pet, like you would with any other fish. She is approximately two-thousand six-hundred years old, having massively surpassed her species natural lifespan. The five eggs which still remain must be hatched at some point in the story. Behind its pectoral fins, two tendrils extend towards the tail, which they connect to about midway. The captive Sea Empress Leviathan is the last remaining adult of Her species and a parent to at least seven eggs. They have two small pectoral fins and one long dorsal fin that extends across its tail protuding from the back of its triangular head. I don't really need this weird exploit, so I'm not interested in using that but would rather just have my fish catalogued properly.Spadefish have a flat, irregularly-formed body. Until they hatch, an egg is labeled as an unknown creature egg, changing to match the name of the creature the egg contained if it hatches inside an Alien Containment. They are the unhatched versions of their respective Fauna. I can do this over and over and over and have essentially infinite fish from one egg instantly. Eggs are items found in Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. Lastly, sometimes they just bug out in the containment unit and the creature will "hatch" but the egg is still there and still listed as "Creature egg" but here's the weird part - if I pick the egg up into my inventory and then drop it again, it drops the egg AND spawns the creature from that egg instantly. So that was the first weird thing, but then right after that all the eggs I discovered and hatched now seem to just say "creature egg" again, even after they hatch and I can't seem to "discover" them again - even ones I can recognize by sight now that I know what they are, just say "creature egg." At some point I picked up a gasopod egg but it wasn't listed as "gasopod egg" even though I've discovered it, it just shows creature egg so I thought maybe it was unique, but then it wouldn't let me drop it in the containment unit - any other eggs I can drop just fine but this one just doesn't allow it to be dropped - doesn't show the "right click to drop" icon when you highlight it while others do. I got my alien containment unit and hatched my first few eggs, everything going great.
